Rockchip rkdeveloptool

The open-source Linux/macOS flashing tool for Rockchip devices in MaskROM or Loader mode.

rkdeveloptool talks the Rockchip USB protocol to a device in MaskROM or Loader mode. It can download a loader into RAM, then read and write flash, write partitions from a GPT and reboot the device. It is the standard flashing tool on Linux and macOS.

Key points

  • rkdeveloptool ld lists devices and shows whether each is in Maskrom or Loader mode.
  • In MaskROM, first run rkdeveloptool db <loader.bin> to download the SPL loader into RAM.
  • Then rkdeveloptool wl 0 image.img writes a raw image from sector 0, and rkdeveloptool rd reboots.
