Rockchip Android
Rockchip Android SDKs, boot images, device configuration and product customisation.
Rockchip publishes Android SDKs (currently 12, 13 and 14 for RK3588/RK3576/RK3568 class parts) to partners and board vendors. They bundle a vendor kernel, U-Boot and a device tree in device/rockchip/. Product work is mostly device-tree and HAL bring-up, launcher and kiosk configuration, and OTA packaging.
Key points
- The SDK build is driven by build.sh / lunch targets; the kernel DTB is part of the boot or vendor_boot image.
- GPIO, Ethernet and camera bring-up happen in the kernel DTS first; Android HALs sit on top.
- Update images (update.img) are flashed with RKDevTool / upgrade_tool; production uses the same image format.
- For kiosks: lock-task mode (device owner), a custom launcher, and disabling the status/navigation bars.
