Applies to: RK3588 RK3588S RK3576 RK3568 RK3566 RK3399 RK3328 RK3288
Symptoms
- Black screen on HDMI, and dmesg shows "Cannot find any crtc or sizes"
- Serial console works normally
Common causes
- HDMI node or its VOP port/endpoint disabled in the DTB
- HPD (hot-plug detect) GPIO or DDC I2C not working
- HDMI PHY / PLL for the requested mode unsupported
- Monitor powered on after boot and HPD not re-triggered
How to fix it
- Check connector state
cat /sys/class/drm/*/status cat /sys/class/drm/card*-HDMI-A-1/modes - Enable the full display route
The hdmi node, the hdmi_in_vp endpoint and the VOP video port it links to must all be "okay".
- Force a mode to bypass EDID
append ... video=HDMI-A-1:1920x1080@60e
