Rockchip SBCs

Single-board computers built on Rockchip SoCs: compare I/O, RAM and software support.

Rockchip SBCs span from Pi-sized RK3566 boards to full-I/O RK3588 boards with dual 2.5 GbE and PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe. When you pick one for a product prototype, weigh software support (vendor images, mainline status, community size) as heavily as the spec sheet.

Key points

  • Prototype on an SBC with the same SoC and PMIC as your intended SoM or custom design.
  • Check whether the vendor publishes schematics and DTS sources; you will need both for a custom carrier.
  • Long-term availability varies; for products, prefer vendors with industrial SoM roadmaps.
