Rockchip OCR
Text detection and recognition (PP-OCR style) on Rockchip NPUs.
OCR pipelines split into a text detector (e.g. DBNet) and a recogniser (CRNN / SVTR). Both can run on the NPU. The RKNN Model Zoo includes PP-OCR examples that are a practical starting point for meter reading, label and ANPR style applications.
Key points
- Fix input shapes for the recogniser (e.g. 48×320) and pad text crops instead of using dynamic shapes.
- Quantisation can hurt recogniser accuracy; consider FP16 or hybrid quantisation for it.
